Friendship and French food
Really, with a title like that, need I say more? I met up with Karoline in Paris on Thanksgiving for our European reunion of sorts, as it was with her I had traveled through Europe as a back-packing college student some unnamed years ago. Having just been to Paris with Ira last month when we covered an ambitious number of sights in a few days, my goals for this trip were simple and uncluttered; spend quality time with my friend and eat good food. I would say we sufficiently accomplished these goals, as well as a healthy amount window-shopping and a trip to Sacre Coeur, also a must. We walked all over the city, which is the best way to see it (and the only way due to, yes, another Metro strike) - stopping along the way to warm up with a glass of wine, try a few macaroons or indulge in a crepe. We shared fresh croissants for breakfast in Karoline’s cozy flat, marveled at the creative Christmas window displays, and had a fabulous dinner at Bouillon Racine. What a great couple days respite before final exams!
